The Assembly Task Force on People with Disabilities chaired by Assemblyman Bing hosted a public hearing focusing on the problems that people with disabilities face in locating and paying for affordable housing in New York City. The hearing was conducted in conjunction with the Assembly Committee on Housing on which Assemblyman Bing also serves. He is the author of A. 7179, legislation sponsored by 39 colleagues that has previously passed the Assembly which would expand the scope of the Disabled Rent Increase Exemption Program (DRIE) for rent-regulated housing.
